The Technology

The wireless technology that is employed for our Eastman-Stuckley-Sud-St-Ethienne project is based on 900Mhz frequency. This frequency was select due to the nature of the geography of the region. The area is very hilly and is a forested area. Only 900Mhz frequency would be able to penetrate the foliage of the region and provide stable links for our service. We are using some of the most advanced and stable wireless technology available to provide our clients the best possible speed and reliable service anywhere.

The Subscriber Unit

The client device that is installed on the user premises is one of the smallest available in the industry, while providing the capacity to be many kilometers away from our service tower. The subscriber unit measures 31.75cm x 20cm x 7 cm (12.5" x 8" x 2.75") and weights only 4 lbs. It can be attached to the roof, side of the house, or brick chimney.

The unit can blend in with any style of house. Below is a picture of a unit install just under the roof of a house.

The placement of the unit on the house depends on where the house is situated versus our service tower. The unit must face the direction of our service tower.

Is Wireless Service available to me?

Our service is available to users who have a line of sight to our service tower on DuRocher road. You have to be able to roughly be able to see the tower to be able to have service. Trees may be in the path, but other obstructions or geography may cause the service not to work. For example, if there is a hill in between the your house and the service tower, the service will not be available. We have special software that will tell us geographical features between a potential client and our service tower. We can give preliminary survey to see if the terrain permits the wireless service to work. A visit by one of our staff may be required to ensure that service is available.

The service is available to any user within 10 Km of our service tower. An external antenna in addition to the subscriber units maybe need for clients over 7 Km from our telecom tower. One of our trained personal will visit your home to verify that this external antenna is required.

Installation

Installation will be done by one of our professional installers who will install the subscriber unit on your house or building. They will install and pass all the necessary wiring from the outdoor unit to your PC in your house. The service can be attached to a PC or a LAN that you may already have. The initial installation fee covers the installation of the subscriber unit on your house or building, wiring from the unit to your PC or LAN inside your house, installation of ZiD DSL plus software on your PC, the configuration of your PC to be able to access our service.

Installation time is 7 working days after the order is placed for the service. Confirmation of installation date and time will be given once order is accepted.

Technical Support

Techincal support is available to answer any question of problems that you may have, 7 days week. Our support hours are from 8:30AM to 9:00PM on weekdays, and from 10:30AM to 7:00PM on weekends and holidays.

If you need any set-up of your internal network, we can provide you this service for a reasonable fee.
